Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Yoder distributed photographs of her daughters engaged in sexual activity on Kik, an instant messaging app created to help people connect. Under the user name "freakygirl82," Yoder connected with a man in a chat room who was actually a source for the FBI.

The source described Yoder as being "very serious" about sending her daughter from Philadelphia to his location in Detroit, going as far as giving him the size of clothing he would need to purchase the six-year-old. She also told him she hoped he impregnated her daughter one day so she could become a grandmother.

When the source handed over the account to an undercover FBI agent, the agent received a picture of the young girl along with the message, "That's my 6 yr old. Urs now."

Yoder was arrested in late May of 2014 and nearly 40 images of her daughters engaged in sexual activity were found on her phone.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Yoder's sentencing hearing on Tuesday, where a forensic psychologist testified she had the mentality of a third-grader, she didn't understand what she was doing and that she had a history of sexual abuse.

A North Carolina psychologist, Faye Sultan, addressed the court and disclosed that Yoder was raped as a child by her grandfather and was later abused by other men throughout her life. Sultan went as far as claiming Yoder never actually intended to send her daughter to the would-be pedophile.

Yoder apologized in court, saying, "I'm so sorry. I love my children. I never meant to hurt them in any way. I realize what I did was wrong. My children are my life. That's all I have."

Court documents revealed Yoder went on to claim she never meant to send her daughter to Detroit, but later admitted her plan was to "let the man take her daughter for the summer and see what happened after that."

Yoder was given a 25-year prison sentence by US District Court Chief Judge Petrese Tucker, who also ordered ten years of supervised release and a $400 special assessment.

It is horrifying that such accounts of abuse exist in the world. Together we need to lift those children up and pray they find peace in a better life.
