Pope Francis heads to Philiadelphia, last stop during visit to United States

Pope Francis will contiue to be busy for the next two days.

Pope Francis leaves New York City from John F. Kennedy International Airport this morning after what was a very busy day yesterday. He is expected to arrive in Philadelphia around 9:30 a.m. (EST), but a late New York departure could put him in Philadelphia more around 9:50 a.m (EST).

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA (Catholic Online) - Upon arrival in Philadelphia, Pope Francis will hold Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. The Pontiff is then expected to visit Independence Hall, later during his first afternoon in the city.

Pope Francis will pay a visit to the Festival of Families at Benjamin Franklin Parkway this evening around 4:30 p.m. (EST).

During the Holy Father's last day in the United States, he will meet with bishops at St. Martin's Chapel and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He will make a stop by the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, and then hold Mass for the conclusion of the World Meeting of Families at Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Before departing for home, Pope Francis will visit with organizers, volunteers and benefactors of the World Meeting of Families at Atlantic Aviation.

The Holy Father will depart for Rome around 5:00 p.m. (EST) on September 27.
