Pope Francis has departed from Washington D.C. for his short flight to New York. Francis is expected to arrive at the John F. Kennedy International Airport around 5 p.m. (EST).

LOS ANGELES, (Catholic Online) - Upon arrival in New York City, Pope Francis will visit St. Patrick's Cathedral for the Evening Prayer (Vespers) at 6:45 p.m.

Much like his visit in Washington D.C., Pope Francis will be very busy during his next two days in New York City.

First thing tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m., Pope Francis will visit the United Nations and address the United Nations General Assembly. At 11:30 a.m. he will initiate the multi-religious service at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, World Trade Center.

Around 4:00 p.m., the Pope will pay a visit to Our Lady Queen of Angels School in East Harlem and then participate in a procession through Central Park immediately following. From the procession, Pope Francis will hold a Mass at Madison Square Garden.

He leaves New York City for Philadelphia at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 26.
