Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
American woman barely escapes death after co-worker tries beheading her
FREE Catholic Classes
For Traci Johnson, life will never be the same. Every day she still feels the horror from almost being beheaded by her former co-worker. Although she fortunately escaped death, another co-worker was reportedly decapitated by the same man. The suspect was fired after a heated argument over religion, as it was alleged he tried to convert his colleagues into Islam.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The attack happened last September, but Traci Johnson decided to share her story Fox News' The Kelly File last Wednesday.
"He started slicing my neck. And got a hold of my face, and got a hold of my right index finger, and wouldn't stop - and I'm screaming for help and didn't think anybody was going to come around," she shared. She explained that Alton Nolen rushed into the Vaughan Foods, where they worked, with a knife, displeased by the fact that he was fired after an argument on Islamic theology went the wrong way.
"He got a millimeter away from my jugular cord. I sustained a neck injury. He got a hold of my jugular vein and some nerves in my neck," she told the host, Megyn Kelly.
Traci Johnson barely escaped because of shots fired at Nolen from the company's chief operating officer and a reserve sheriff's deputy, Mark Vaughan. Unfortunately, the police confirmed that Nolen had successfully beheaded her 54-year-old colleague, Colleen Hufford.
Johnson shared that initially, people tried to keep what happened to Hufford a secret from her, but she soon learned the bad news.
"It still bothers me to this day," she said, noting that her friend wasn't supposed to be dead, explaining she knew who Nolen really wanted to kill, including herself.
The FBI was asked to assist in the investigation, after Nolen allegedly tried to convert his co-workers.
