New report shows updated statistics on American's views of current war.

American's outlook for the War on Terror and Muslims continues to decline. The most recent Rasmussen Report discovered that only a lamentable 29 percent of likely U.S. voters "believe the United States and its allies are winning the War on Terror.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to Rasmussen Reports, this percentage dropped from 33 percent in March. As many voters in the United States form the mass opinion that terrorists are winning this war (39 percent believe terrorists have the upper hand), other negative statements grow.

Forty-nine percent of the 1,000 participants now think most Muslims worldwide see the United States as an enemy. This number is up 10 percent from last year. Thirty-three percent disagree and do not think most Muslims see the United States as an enemy and 42 percent do not believe most Americans view Muslims as an enemy.

However, only 32 percent of those surveyed think the United States' involvement in the Middle East has done good. Forty-nine percent believe the U.S. involvement is bad for America.

After President Obama was elected, voter confidence in U.S. anti-terrorism efforts hit a striking high with 62 percent in 2009. Ever since Osama bin Laden was killed in May 2011, the trend has been steadily decreasing.

Seventy-five percent of Americans express that Islamic religious leaders need to do more to "emphasize the peaceful beliefs of their faith." More than half Americans surveyed believe Islam encourages violence more than any other religion (52 percent) and the U.S. relations with the Islamic world is much worse than it was five years ago (52 percent)

Don't lose hope -- Stand up against terrorists now!

More Republicans than Democrats believe terrorists are winning (55 percent vs. 24 percent) and think Islamic relations are worse than five years ago (67 percent vs. 24 percent).

The younger voters do not think the relationship is worse but that does not mean they don't think the U.S. involvement in the Middle East has hurt our country.

As we look at the numbers, it is important to remember the importance of this research. Only 39 percent of Americans think today is safer than it was before 9/11 and 86 percent believe this new wave of radical Islamic terrorism is a threat to the United States.
