We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Bernard Coffindaffer's original interviews were not shown in 1993 because he passed away days prior to the release.

Back in 1993, the CBS "Sunday Morning" show was supposed to air a Bill Geist report about Bernard Coffindaffer but was put into halt as he died two days before. Thinking that pursuing with the report in the scheduled show was inappropriate, his story was never aired until recently. Last Sunday was the Easter celebration and CBS had aired portions of Coffindaffer's report to help tell the story of how a woman dutifully continued the legacy Coffindaffer left - erecting crosses all over the country.

span style="line-height: 15.8599996566772px;">MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Coffindaffer was a West Virginian businessman who sold his properties to fulfill a mission of putting up crosses on America's roadsides as a devoted Evangelist, now his mission is being maintained and continued by the nonprofit organization Crosses Across America, Inc.

The organization was founded by Sara Abraham a decade after the death of Rev. Coffindaffer, whom she never met. Abraham, "a Mississippi mom and housewife" told Geist that she was inspired by the mission of the man who left 1,842 reminders of his legacy: the three-cross displays.

Abraham's organization now has about 1,400 volunteers working to "preserve, maintain, and construct roadside crosses across America," according to The Blaze.

Keep a rosary always within your reach. Find the perfect rosaries for home, work and parish.

Their latest installation is the 110-foot tall cross near Mississippi's highway 20, with width of 64 feet and weighing about 25 tons. According to their website, the organization wishes to remind all Christians, and reaching non-Christians, the message of hope in Jesus Christ.

Bernard Coffindaffer died at the age of 68 due to heart attack. His personal mission though is still well and now espoused by the CAA, building three-cross displays every 50 miles in the roadsides of the United States.

The nonprofit organization he inspired is certified by the IRS and running without paid employees for 13 years now.
