The rift between Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Police in New York City is escalating on a daily basis

The flames that fueled this lunacy were fanned by a Mayor who repeatedly and irresponsibly touted a racial narrative which attributed racial bias to the Police as he led this City through recent altercations between some police officers and some citizens. It was irresponsible, dangerous and politically charged. It showed his own bias and revealed a political agenda which does not serve the common good. The Mayor is placing his own leftist ideology and class warfare analysis above the duties of his important office.

NEW YORK, NY (Catholic Online) - I awakened on the Sunday morning before Christmas to the horrific news of the intentional assassination of two New York City Police Officers.

The assassin was named Ismaaiyl Brinsley. He was only 28 years old and had a history of violence and problems.

Speculation is running rampant across the media as people try to find some basis for explaining why such a coldblooded and heinous act was committed by this man.

He walked right up to the window of a parked police car and intentionally assassinated two Police Officers!

The social media pages of the killer are now gone. No-one knows who pulled them down. But, before they did, they revealed some alarming facts.

He wrote on his Instagram account, right before committing the evil act, "I'm putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let's take 2 of theirs."

His Facebook page contained a photo of a page from the Quran, the Holy Book of Islam, seemingly attempting to justify what he was about to do. That does not confirm any connection between the assassin being a radical Islamist and the evil act. However, he also spoke Arabic.

One of the officers, Rafael Ramos, was 40 years old, happily married and leaves behind his wife and two sons. The other officer, Wenjin Liu, was 32 years old and married only two months. They both had exemplary records.

The assassin fled after committing the evil act. He then took his own life, shooting himself in the face.

I now express my personal opinion.

The flames that fueled this lunacy were fanned by a Mayor who has repeatedly and irresponsibly touted a racial narrative which attributed racial bias to the Police as he led this City through recent altercations between some police officers and some citizens.

It was irresponsible, dangerous and politically charged. It showed his own bias and revealed a political agenda which does not serve the common good. The Mayor is placing his own leftist ideology and class warfare analysis above the duties of his important office.

The rift between Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Police in New York City is escalating on a daily basis.

Late Saturday, as the Mayor entered the hospital where the slain officers were taken, a gathering of Police Officers turned their backs on him. The youtube clip accomapnying this report shows the action.

A local news channel caught these poignant words spoken by Edward Mullins, the president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association. He addressed the Mayor directly:

"Mayor de Blasio, the blood of these two officers is clearly on your hands. It is your failed policies and actions that enabled this tragedy to occur. I only hope and pray that more of these ambushes and executions do not happen again."

The assassination of two Police Officers in New York reveals a vital city at a crossroads and a Nation desperately in need of Gods help and moral leadership.
