Guest Opinion: Catholic Action, Faithful Citizenship and Religious Freedom

America must be brought back to and forward from "In God we trust!" America must move towards "It is God we honor and serve - and neighbor as self!"   The French Revolution and its stepchildren are based on a body of lies - and the Catholic Church, especially in America, has the opportunity to lead the world back to the right path - a path towards real liberty and justice for all.

P>MECHANICSBURG, PA (Catholic Online) - "Our first freedom [religious freedom] is facing a relentless onslaught from well-funded and aggressive groups and individuals who are using the courts, Congress, and the vast federal bureaucracy to suppress and limit religious freedom" (Survey of Religious Hostility in America). 

Restoring and protecting religious freedom, and all our God given rights - especially the right to life - is only the beginning of what needs to be done to fulfill the authentic humanizing potential of America as founded.  "It is not enough for America to be brought back to her founding precepts, principles, and values.  America must be brought forward" (Christopher Blaze). 

CAUTION: Not all Americans and not all external "influencers" of America's social, economic, and political policy have the same ideal in mind when they cry "Forward." Christopher Blaze would have us continue the revolution started in Scotland and England that "brought forward" God-centered humanism in America (About Us, www.ApostolicAction.org). 

Some, however, would continue the revolution which started in France that brought forth Anarchy ,followed by Tyranny, leading to the de-humanizing secular humanism of Fascism, Nazism, Socialism, and Communism - each, in their own ways, advancing materialism, skepticism, nihilism, and atheism. 

As a matter of fact: "The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology" (Wikipedia). And, "The slogan 'Forward!' reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism" (Victor Morton, The Washington Times, April 30, 2012).
