WASHINGTON, DC (Catholic Online) - While most presidential candidates are focused on preparation for debates, one candidate is entirely focused on placing pro-life commercials on TV stations in primary key states.

Randall Terry, founder of Operation Rescue and officially a candidate for the democratic party nomination, is making good on his promise to focus the campaign spotlight on the fundamental human Right to Life.

In announcing his candidacy last January, Terry stated, ""We will run ads on the Super Bowl 2012 that show dead babies," he began, "the victims of abortion. We will, with the help of God, bring America face to face with the victims of Obama's policies. This campaign is about human rights, ladies and gentlemen."

"It will be first and foremost about the human rights of babies that are being brutally slaughtered and thrown in dumpsters and landfills."

Almost twelve months later, the Terry campaign announced that they are currently running ads in 15 cities across five states - Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and Nebraska.

Terry has taken advantage of a loophole in the laws for broadcasters from the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) that prevents campaign ads from being censored.

While FCC-licensed TV stations can reject ads based on graphic content, they are mandated by law to run the ads of federal candidates within the 45-day window of any primary election or caucus in a given state.

The commercials have already caused a stir in Iowa, providing both positive and negative commentary in the local media. To view the commercials, you can click here.

The campaign also noted that they are targeting the New Hampshire primary, with ads planned for that state and those cities whose coverage area extends into the "Live Free or Die" state, including Boston, Portland, Maine and Burlington, Vermont.

"In that primary," Terry stated, "there is a drawing to see which candidate's name would be listed first. We found it interesting that we won the drawing and my name will appear at the top of the ballot!"

He also mentioned that they are moving forward with a pro-life ad for the Superbowl.

From the beginning Terry knew he would not win the democratic party nomination. That, in fact was not the goal of his campaign. Rather, he wanted to use the election to bring the serious attack on human life that has been taking place through the horrors of procured abortion and the failure in American positive law to recognize the fundamental human Right to Life.

The campaign is dependent on the support of individuals who understand the importance of America coming face to face with the real story of abortion - to honestly face the carnage that comes forth from abortion clinics.  Terry indicated that they are sincerely grateful for the all gifts they have received.

While coordinating the campaign occupied a great deal of this pro-life activist's time, he and his family were hit with a terrible tragedy. Terry's son, Jamiel, was killed in a head-on collision on November 30 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Seven years ago, Jamiel publicly announced that he was gay. The declaration caused a major falling out with his father and made headlines across the country. Since that time, however, father and son had reconciled and talked regularly on the phone.
