Describing Gaza as a "demolition site" Trump emphasized the need for action to prevent further suffering. However, the proposal has faced strong opposition from key political figures in the region and religious leaders, including Monsignor William Shomali, Auxiliary Bishop of Jerusalem, who has expressed grave concerns about the plan.
