We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to the Mirror, over 1,000 British troops are currently in Iraq, along with up to 200 British special forces troops such as the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, Special Boat Service and the SAS.
Michael Fallon, the UK's Defense Secretary, reported: "We've seen solid progress against Daesh in Iraq in recent months. Now is the time to step up our training of Iraqi Forces, as they prepare for operations in key cities such as Fallujah and Mosul.
"Along with the trebling of UK air strikes, this underlines the crucial role our armed forces are playing in the fight against Daesh."The U.S. Department of Defense announced: "Iraqi security forces have had significant successes and have made noticeable progress that will lead to the eventual defeat of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant."
Army Major General Richard D. Clark spoke to Pentagon reporters via video teleconference from Baghdad to say the United States has recovered Ramadi and Beiji, then added that the Iraqi army brigades America has trained have been successful in battles in Ramadi.Despite Clarke's report that the coalition flew over 20,000 hours of intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance, resulting in the recapture of Ramadi, the lack of more troops indicates problems with future success.
On Monday, Army Lt. Gen. Sean MacFarland told reporters "[T]here is a good potential that we will need additional capabilities, additional forces to provide those capabilities."
Unfortunately, if the Obama administration gets its way, no more troops will be sent to reinforce those who are already fighting the war in Iraq.
