We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

'I had just sat down to play my guitar near the ocean when I heard screams from down the road.'

A 26-year-old man sat to play his guitar before a glorious ocean view when frightened screams shattered the serenity of the moment.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - "I had just sat down to play my guitar near the ocean when I heard screams from down the road," Yishai Montgomery told Israel's Channel 2.

"I saw a crowd of people panicking and then the terrorist broke through and started running towards me. We made eye contact and I thought I'm next to get it.

"Then I fell, and I think my clumsiness saved me because it created some space between me and the knife. Then I got up and hit him with the guitar because it's what I had.

"Immediately, I stood up and started to run after him with my guitar," Montgomery described. "I slammed it on his head. He was stunned and didn't know what to do with himself.

"Then, I realized that I was the only person who knew that he was the terrorist. He started to run down the street. I left everything behind and shouted 'terrorist,' and started to run after him with a group of six to seven people."

The Jerusalem Post reported the attacker was 21-year-old Bashar Masalha of Kalkiya, who was later shot and killed by police.

Before bumping into Montgomery, Masalha murdered 29-year-old Taylor Force, a graduate student who was visiting Israel as part of a school trip.

Though Force was killed, the terrorist was effectively stopped and Montgomery became known as the "Guitar Hero."

As described by ChristianHeadlines, Montgomery was interviewed by several media sources, and Daily Mail reported a GoFundMe account was created to help raise enough money for "a new top of the line guitar or two or 3..."

The GoFundMe account nearly raised its $5,000 goal within a single day.

Meanwhile, Montgomery was gifted a guitar by Israeli rock star Aviv Geffen and another by music store Halalit, located a few doors from the location Montgomery struck the terrorist.
