Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Though Iran claims the missiles are unable to accommodate nuclear warheads, their missile test violated current U.N. Security Council resolutions.
Iran's deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, delivered several statements to a group of Iranian officials in Tehran, including: "If our interests are not met under the nuclear deal, there will be no reason for us to continue.
If other parties decide, they could easily violate the deal. However, they know this will come with costs."
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari told reporters, "Any measure outside the agreed details (related to the nuclear deal) will be responded by Iran's reciprocal and appropriate actions."Sen. Mark Kirk, released a responding statement to say Iran's new threat requires more than a simple you're "not supposed to be doing that." He called for "new crippling sanctions" against Iran's "entities driving the Iranian ballistic missile program."
Meanwhile, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy claimed the nuclear agreement has done nothing to stop Iran's continued missile program efforts.
He believes the deal has been enabling "Iran's aggression and terrorist activities." By relaxing sanctions, Iran's proxies grow stronger in Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.
"Meanwhile," he added, "Khamenei and the Iranian regime are acting with impunity because they know President Obama will not hold them accountable and risk the public destruction of his nuclear deal, the cornerstone of the president's foreign policy legacy." On Monday, Yukiya Amano, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief, reported the IAEA will no longer release details about Iran's nuclear program or its compliance with the deal.Interestingly, when asked about the comments on Tuesday, a State Department official reported: "There isn't less stringent monitoring or reporting on Iran's nuclear problem. The IAEA's access to Iran's nuclear program and its authorization to report on it has actually expanded.
"It's a distortion to say that if there is less detail in the first and only post-Implementation Day IAEA report then that somehow implies less stringent monitoring or less insight into Iran's nuclear program."
The official claimed the IAEA continually provides "a tremendous amount of information about Iran's current, much smaller nuclear program."
