LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Kremil claims seventeen oil trucks have been destroyed in the past seven days, and Russian air strikes are responsible for destroying nearly 2,000 oil tankers since September.

Pictures and footage have both been released to journalists by Lieutenant General Sergei Rudskoy, of the Russian Armed Forces command. Rudskoy released the images and video in a briefing in which he say before a large screen depicting aerial footage of the Russian attacks.

Thick plumes of black smoke can be seen rising among the clean white clouds as truck after truck is destroyed.

Experts have already begun to ask whether the briefing was a propaganda stunt or if it was a legitimate meeting.

Russia's defense ministry claims 12,000 trucks have been witnessed to enter and leave Turkey from Zakho, which is a city close to Turkey's borders with Syria and northern Iraq.

The ministry claims the route involves "a significant detour" to avoid Russian missiles, but "Turkey remains the final point of the smuggling route."

Research associate at London's Kings College, Eliot Higgins, told The Telegraph, "The Russian MoD has lied repeatedly, so their word is worthless."

The Daily Mail reported Russian airstrikes helping Assad's forces reclaim land from rebels.

Russian air strikes are also believed to be responsible for keeping evacuees in fear for their lives and currently displaced.
