We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Muslims take a stand against religious stereotypes

A Syrian rebel group released a pro-Muslim video featuring ISIS prisoners dressed in orange jumpsuits. The familiar scene mimics terrorist propaganda videos, with non-extremist Muslims holding the guns.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - In opposition to the many terrorist videos featuring orange jumpsuits, men kneeling and Islamic State terrorists murdering prisoners, these Syrian rebels present a different view of what being a Muslim really looks like.

The video is titled "Muslims are not criminals" and has been released on several websites, though copies have since been removed from the more popular sites, such as Twitter and YouTube.

ISIS fighters are dressed in orange jumpsuits and marched to a desert location. The masked Muslims hold weapons and keep their faces covered, as is the extremist way, then force their prisoners to kneel. When the men do so, the Syrian rebel fighters point their weapons toward the head of the man kneeling before them.

Unlike in the ISIS propaganda videos, the Syrian Muslims holster their weapons and remove their masks. It is then a man dressed in a white Islamic robe appears, saying, "This is not our policy. We are not evil."

Though the fates of the extremists remains unknown, the video implies their lives were spared. The Syrian rebels claim the terrorists were imprisoned following the filming, which was created by the Levant Front.

Levant Front is a coalition of rebel factions who have lost fighters to ISIS since its creation last December.
