Video released by the Kurdistan Regional Security Council

A video featuring an ISIS prison infiltration by U.S. soldiers has been released and it gives a first-person point-of-view of part of the mission that rescued nearly 70 prisoners and killed one American soldier.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Kurdistan Regional Security Council released the video of Thursday's rescue caught on a helmet-camera.

The rescue was conducted in an overnight mission that U.S. officials claim was for hostages in "imminent danger." Air raids were conducted prior to, and after the hostages were rescued in an attempt to keep ISIS militants from approaching the prison. Following the operation, the prison was destroyed.

The video was edited and jumps from one location to another. The first scene depicts hostages quickly being ushered through the American force while the sound of gunfire can be heard in the background.

Some of the hostages can be seen wearing blood-spattered robes and all are obviously frightened with the constant popping of gunfire. Many raised their hands and were bent-over as they shuffled from one room to the next.

In another scene, the rescue team can be seen investigating what appears to be some sort of break room with a couch, television, refrigerator and large ISIS flag hanging on the wall. In the final scene, a soldier pats-down hostages before releasing them to the rest of the unit.

U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter addressed the mission, saying "I expect we'll do more of this sort of thing." When asked about intelligence gathered during the team's inspection of the prison, Carter claimed the unit discovered a "significant cache" but dismissed appeals for elaboration.

Six ISIS militants were arrested and over twenty were killed during the operation while the United States lost one man: Special Forces Master Sergeant Joshua Wheeler, who was awarded a purple heart following his death.
