LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A sixteen-year-old former sex slave, Muna, came forward to MailOnline, describing her relationship with Mueller as an ISIS prisoner.
Muna was hand picked by the terror leader from 61 Yazidi women and girls aged nine to 22. After two nights of being held under extreme security, Baghdadi came to Muna, accompanied by his son-in-law/bodyguard. From there, Muna was transported to Baghdadi's two-story house where he lived with his three wives, three sons and three daughters.
"The wives were always worse than Baghdadi," Muna said. "They were always telling the children that they were lazy and beating them."
Baghdadi began to force Muna to convert to Islam and showed her sickening executions -starting with the horrific beheading of James Foley at the hands of Jihadi John. "He said he ordered them to kill James Foley," Muna explained, noting that she was told she was an infidel and would only see heaven if she convert to the "nice and clean" religion of Islam.
After 10 days in Raqqa with the Baghdadi family, they were all moved to the province of Aleppo, also known as Haleb. There, she tried to escape, but was sadly recaptured and returned to Baghdadi.
She described the traumatizing abuse she experienced during her time with Baghdadi; including, being beaten all over with a belt and garden hoe, being slapped in the face until she bled and beaten in the face with cables and wooden sticks.
Shortly after being caught escaping, Muna was taken to a female prison in Raqqa; this is where she met Mueller for the first time.
Mueller was kidnapped by jihadis in August 2013 after a short visit to Syria. She was taken along with her Syrian photographer boyfriend Omar Alkhani. Alkhani told their captors the Mueller was his wife and pleaded for her release, according to the Daily Mail.
However, when the militants went to her to confirm the story, they told her to tell the truth and she would be freed. She told them the truth, that she was unmarried.
ISIS militants began searching for a husband for her, but Baghdadi eventually claimed her as his own and forced her to marry him.
"When they first captured Kayla, ISIS fighters pulled her nails out," Muna told MailOnline. "She was forced to convert to Islam."
Muna explained she was transported with Mueller and another sex slave named Susan to Baghdadi's deputy Abu Sayaff's home.
"She was afraid and she didn't resist as he would beat her," Muna explained, describing how Mueller was raped many times in front of her. "I saw him rape her three or four times and they told us that anybody who runs away, including Kayla, would be killed...Kayla did not know he was the Caliph, but she knew he was important."
"When Kayla returned in the morning she was crying and said she'd been raped," Muna added, noting that Baghdadi kept his forced marriage to Mueller a secret from his other wives.
"One night me and Susan told Kayla we were planning to runaway but she said the last time you guys tried to escape you were captured and beaten. This time they will kill you," Muna recounted. "Susan and I insisted on running away and told Kayla to come with us. But she said her friend [James Foley] had already been beheaded and she feared suffering the same fate."
Muna was able to successfully escape that night.
"I was so sad, but I don't believe she was killed in an airstrike," expressed Muna about learning of Mueller's death on February 10.
According to ISIS, Mueller was killed as a result of a coalition airstrike, but the Pentagon maintains Mueller was murdered by her captors and U.S. special forces only struck the Sayaff compound after learning of her murder.
"I would tell her parents the whole story about Kayla. She was always saying that if she gets released she will take me to her home to meet them," stated Muna. "I would tell them that she was such as close friend to me - more than a sister. I loved Kayla."
