Syrian President Al Assad denies any involvement in the incident

After the airstrike on a residential area located in Douma, near Damascus, a little Syrian girl was trapped under the rubbles of her former home. She was among the lucky ones after her whole family was feared dead of the attack by the Syrian army supposedly to kill the rebels. President Bashar Al Assad and his administration placed all the blames on the rebel group Jaysh al-Islam and had denied making the "massacres".

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - She was terrified and covered with dust when rescuers pulled her out of the dangerous pile of ruins on Saturday. The Syrian toddler was among the few found alive after the Syrian army attacked.

Although the government explained they aimed their campaign toward the Jaysh al-Islam rebels -also known as the Islam Army- the target of the airstrike was still in the neighborhood of hundreds of civilians who are now dead or injured and homeless after yet again finding themselves caught between the warring groups.

According to Daily Mail, activists claim at least 50 bodies were found under the rubble and more are expecting to be found. They explained that Al Assad's bombing campaign against the rebels was an airstrike where barrel bombs would be dropped on Douma, nearly 10 miles northeast of Damascus.

Around 100 people are reported dead as the Syrian army dropped bombs on a busy market and residential homes.

Despite the dire situation, activists are not losing hope on finding more people under the ruins, though they worry that operations might take time due to its dangerous nature for both rescuers and survivors.

In the midst of the humanitarian crisis in Syria, Al Assad blames the rebels for the attack and claims that the reports about a government-led massacre were fabricated.

-- Let us all pray for more victims to be found alive like the dear toddler --
