Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
First Jewish extremist subjected to administrative detention
FREE Catholic Classes
The first Jewish extremist is now under tougher regulations, which Palestinian militants are usually subjected to, after suspected involvement in an act of terrorism. In the middle of the rise of extremism, the Israeli security cabinet decided to extend the administrative detention to including Jews. Last week, a Palestinian toddler was reportedly killed during an arson attack linked to right-wing Jewish extremists, just hours after the stabbing in the gay pride march.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - "No one is above the law. Anyone who violates it, who carries out hate crimes, terrorism, will face the full severity of the law, including administrative detention if needed," said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Mordechai Meyer, 18, is now under the administrative detention, a tougher regulation without a trial, for six months after he was suspected of being involved with an arson attack that badly damaged the Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes on June 18. He is also suspected of being involved in other attacks on properties owned by Palestinians and Christians, including the arson on the Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem.
The decision, approved by the Israeli attorney general Yehuda Weinstein, came after a fire-bomb attack at a Palestinian home in West Bank, Damu, where an 18-month-old boy was killed during sleep, with the rest of his family was severely injured.
According to police, there are still no leads in identifying those behind the attack last Friday, appealing to the public to call their hotline as soon as they have information. Meyer is one of the three hardline activists arrested recently, along with Meir Ettinger, 23, and Eviatar Slonim.
Over the past decade, several attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank occurred and were linked to the Jewish extremists. However, such hostilities were also directed to Muslims and Christians in the recent years.
