MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Jihadist militants published a "tourists" brochure promoting the Islamic State as a holiday destination. The extremists are reaching out to people who want to spend some downtime under the sun, swimming and taking care of bees in the caliphate.
ISIS is trying to shy away from the beheadings and the gruesome death sentences that the group is known for, by releasing images of their members enjoying a swim in Olympic sized pools in Mosul, Iraq. Images of Jihadi members taking care of bees and busy working with animals in the farmer's market were also featured in the online brochure.
The group is trying to create an impression of a normal life in the caliphate, despite being feared for public floggings, sexual slavery and frontline fighting. Raqqa, one of the most feared areas in Northern Syria is even being depicted as a main tourist attraction in the area. Sunset views across the Euphrates River were featured as something beautiful and picturesque, despite being a bomb-damaged city.
The media arm of the terrorist group is creating mobile applications to help people download the featured pictures in the "tourist" brochure.
However, a closer look in the brochure will reveal the reality of life inside the Islamic State. The depressing reality that swimmers are expected to receive harsh punishments if they do not wear long shorts and t-shirts in the pool area, are pasted beside the pool as rules. Swearing and praying is also prohibited inside the water. Women are also prohibited from entering the water.
Earlier this year, militants drowned a group of prisoners by putting them a cage and lowering them into the water. This is what the ISIS is known for when it comes for recreational activities in water.
An earlier report of the group revealing pictures of children being trained to become the new ISIS army surfaced online. The Caliphate Cubs undergo rigid training to become elite members of the ISIS army.
Fears rise that the terror group may be planning another Tunisia-style beach massacre are also surfacing after an ISIS fighter was seen posing next to holidaymakers in a beach resort in Turkey.
