LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) The FBI bulletin, dated June 8, indicated that while the list named specific individuals it was unknown if the threat to any individuals would go beyond aspiration. In addition to the list, the posts suggest the collection of other information about the targeted individuals including home and work addresses.
Members of the jihadi forum created the list and included photographs for 26 of the 40 people listed. The list was encouraged by the June 3 video where an al Qaeda propagandist, Adam Gadahn, encouraged acts of individual jihad and assassinations. This is not the first time Gadhan has posted a video calling for such acts. In March 2010, he called for small attacks to be made in the United States but no efforts occurred that appear to have been influenced by him. The web posting is the first demonstrable impact his efforts appear to have had.
Law enforcement officials have stressed that no indication of an immediate or specific threat exists at this time. It is also unknown if any individuals on the list have been briefed by law enforcement.
