We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Sunni Muslims are non-violent Muslims, unlike the Shia who make up the members of radical Islam group ISIS.
According to the State Department Refugee Processing Center data for the current fiscal year, since October 1, 2015, 1,366 Syrian refugees have been admitted into the United States.
Of the Syrian refugees relocated to the United States, 1,330 are Sunnis, nine are Christians - three Catholics, two Orthodox, one Greek Orthodox and three described plainly as "Christian."
Christian persecution in Syria has reached such heights that the United States recently labeled Christians victims of genocide.
In fact, 2015 was the most violent year for Christians in modern history.
With record numbers of slaughtered Christians in Syria, it comes as no surprise that they are not entering the United States as refugees.
Meanwhile, Christian migrants arriving in Greece are believed to be seeking churches instead of registration in an effort to remain off the radar.
"Christians are afraid to live in the camps," Father Halemba, who leads the Middle East for Aid to the Church in Need, stated. "It is a big issue. The fact that ... Christian refugees seek to rent houses to live in, even if 12 people are sharing a small room, rather than in camps for security concerns and cultural differences ... They have told me several times that the Church is the only one helping them."
