We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

Arabic is overtaking Swedish as the dominant second language of that country, displacing neighboring Finnish, according to a comprehensive study by a Swedish linguist. Contributing this this phenomenon is the massive influx of Arabs into the country over the past several years.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The influx of Arabic speakers is changing the linguistic landscape in Sweden. Finnish has long been the dominant second language in that country, but Arabic is now overtaking Finnish.
Linguist Mikael Parkvall, of Stockholm University examined what first languages were spoken in homes and discovered that Arabic was surprisingly common. In fact, it had become nearly as common than Finnish which is an official second language of the country.
The change comes as Sweden accepts more Arab immigrants.
The number of people who speak Finnish as their first language was around 200,000 in 2012 and Arabic speakers was around 150,000. The number of people speaking Finnish as a first language has been in decline since the 1970s after an influx of refugees from that country diminished.
Meanwhile, the number of Arabic speakers has increased.
The change might be dismissed as a curious factoid, except that with Arabic comes Islam and Islamic leaders have made much of their plans to infiltrate other countries and spread Islam, including by militant means.
As Islamic terror spreads across Europe, following refugee influxes, concerns are growing in Sweden that they too may become victims of terror.
Will Islam overtake Sweden and the rest of Europe? It will if the people allow it.
