WASHINGTON, DC (American Life League) - Pope John Paul II was an inspiration and unwavering beacon to all to return to a culture a life. The burning light of his conviction and faith in the sanctity of each human being's life was not confined to the four walls of the Church but pierced the darkness in all four corners of the world.
From Evangelium Vitae to Theology of the Body, John Paul reminded us of the incomparable worth of each human person. More than any pontiff in recent history, he unapologetically told American political leaders and others around the world that equal justice for all, true freedom, and lasting peace required defending innocent human life in the womb.
Pope John Paul II's legacy is a relentless pursuit of the sanctity of every human being's life. In traveling to over 100 countries and being a witness to millions of young people, he was loved by Catholics and throughout the Christian community. His beatification validates his de-facto leadership of the worldwide pro-life movement.
