We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

ATHENS (LifeSiteNews) - A Greek Orthodox bishop has launched a defamation lawsuit against a group of homosexualist activists, reports the homosexual news source Pink News. The bishop is reportedly asking for 1 million Euros in defamation after the group issued a press statement denouncing him.

The suit is launched against the Greek homosexualist organization, Synthesis, and activist Leo Kalovyrnas, who denounced the bishop after the latter made comments on the sinfulness of the homosexual lifestyle in a Greek newspaper.

His Eminence Seraphim, Metropolitan of Peiraeus, a diocese of the Orthodox Church of Greece, said in a newspaper article that the homosexualist movement is "morally corrupt, obsessed with satisfying their psychopathological deviation and who have made a life value out of the faeces elimination tract."

Synthesis responded, saying, "Hate speech against gays, lesbians and transgender people in Greece takes place with impunity."

Synthesis has used the publicity generated by the suit to press the Greek government to criminalise public criticism of homosexuality. The group is running an online petition asking the government to follow the pattern of other European Union countries and add "sexual orientation" to the hate speech statutes.
