Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
Famed British explorer headed to high Buhtan to find the Yeti
FREE Catholic Classes
A British explorer and skeptic is visiting high Bhutan in search of the Yeti, a creature that many locals say exists. Alistair Humphreys does not believe in the Yeti, but he thinks he may be able to uncover evidence that it is another, misidentified creature. He is visiting one of the most remote regions in the world to see for himself.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Alistair Humphreys is leading an expedition to Bhutan where he hopes to investigate the case of the mysterious Yeti.
The Yeti is a hominid or giant ape-like creature that is rumored to exist in the high mountain country between India and Tibet.
All of the evidence for the existence of the Yeti is anecdotal. Mostly stories of sightings, and no actual physical evidence. There are photos and film, but these are inconclusive at best. Because the evidence is so scarce, the Yeti is classified as a cryptozooid, literally, a mysterious animal in the same league as Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster.
Humphreys does not believe the Yeti likely exists. Instead, he thinks it could be a large species of ape or some other creature that was thought previously extinct.
Some experts think the Yeti could actually be the "Gigantopithecus," a species of giant ape that went extinct about a hundred thousand years ago. The ape lived Asia around China, India and Vietnam and stood nearly 10 feet tall.
The sincerity of the locals is difficult to doubt. They are seeing something. Is this the power of suggestion at play? Perhaps a mass hallucination? Willful deception? Nobody knows, but Humphreys is hoping to find out.
His expedition plans to cover hundreds of miles in the Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary where the Yeti has been sighted before.
Most are skeptical that anything will be found, but we will never know if nobody looks.
