ISIS threatens New York, Las Vegas, in latest propaganda ads
FREE Catholic Classes
The Islamic State terrorists have issued more threats, this time against New York, Las Vegas, and the United States in general. A poster and a movie production are being promoted possibly with the intent of inspiring lone wolf attackers. Like Al Qaeda, the Islamic State is paralyzed due to international pressure.
ISIS has released this image in an attempt to convince lone wolf terrorists to do their bidding.
LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - ISIS has threatened New York for Christmas, releasing a poster with a Santa Claus figure standing beside a box of explosives while overlooking the lights of New York's Broadway or Time's Square. The poster says, "We meet at Christmas in New York ... soon."
The release of the poster follows several similar ads threatening the Vatican during Christmas.
The Islamic State is also promoting a movie called "Flames of War II." The movie is a sequel to their original "Flames of War" 2014 which showed Syrian soldiers being executed en masse after being forced to dig their own graves. The new movie shows Las Vegas being attacked as well as several cities being struck by columns of fire. Eventually, a map of the United States is engulfed in flames. The propaganda dump by ISIS is likely a sign of desperation. The terrorist state is virtually destroyed with several foreign adversaries converging on their lingering enclaves. Most of the Islamic State's operations have dispersed internationally under pressure, and are much less effective.
The propaganda appears to be an appeal to inspire lone wolf sympathizers to attack on behalf of the Islamic State. The plea is unlikely to generate much support.
Still, authorities are taking the threats seriously, increasing security in places like the Vatican and New York.
While it is unlikely the Islamic State has the resources or the influence to carry out any of these threats, vigilance is encouraged. People should be aware of their surroundings, and report any suspicious behavior to authorities.
