'The use of children, especially girls, as so-called suicide bombers has become a defining and alarming feature of this conflict.'

Boko Haram has reportedly initiated a child training camp to prepare kids as young as eight-years-old to kill as many innocents as possible - including themselves.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Humanitarian group UNICEF recently reported an increase in children bombers.

Over 75 percent of the child suicide bombers are female.

Manuel Fontaine, UNICEF Regional Director for West and Central Africa explained: "Let us be clear: these children are victims of perpetrators. Deceiving children and forcing them to carry out deadly acts has been one of the most horrific aspects of the violence in Nigeria and in neighboring countries."

Due to the increase in child and female bombings, many have ostracized survivors and look upon them with distrust.

"This suspicion towards children can have destructive consequences; how can a community rebuild itself when it is casting out its own sisters, daughters and mothers?" Fontaine asked.

According to the New York Times, people lucky enough to have escaped the terror group have described the training program for women and girls to eventually conduct deadly suicide missions.

Communities have been torn apart and suspicions run high. With so many broken villages, UNICEF has called for an increase in humanitarian aid.

UNICEF currently has a $97 million goal to provide vaccines, clean water, education and mental health aid to families affected b Boko Haram. Of that goal, #11 million has been raised to date.
