We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Families of the kidnapped girls see their daughters and sisters' faces for the first time since their abduction.

When Boko Haram abducted over 200 school girls at gunpoint from a government school in Chibok, Nigeria, they made headlines across the globe. Since their abduction, there has been next to no word of their fate - until now.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Boko Haram is not known for its benevolence.

Stories of rape, murder and using young girls for suicide missions have been circulating, with one Boko Haram "wife" claiming several of the Chibok girls were killed in air strikes.

Boko Haram collected at least fifteen of the Chibok girls and featured them in a video sent to the Nigerian government as "proof of life."

CNN obtained the footage and reported the video was originally kept only for negotiators and specific members of the Nigerian government to view.

When the film was revealed to family members, mother Rifkatu Ayuba cried out, "My Saratu!"

As Saratu stared into the camera, Ayuba said: "I felt like removing her from the screen. If I could, I would have removed her from the screen."

Each girl is asked by an off-camera man to state their name, the name they went by at school and where they were kidnapped from.

At the conclusion of the 2-minute video, one girl, Naomi Zakaria, delivered what is believed to be a scripted speech.

"I am speaking on 25 December 2015, on behalf of the all the [sic] Chibok girls and we are all well."

Unfortunately, there is no evidence the teens featured in the film remain in good health or are still alive today.
