Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The chilling video, is montage of short clips showing life in North Korea, and reveals the country Kim Jong Un and his cronies don't want you to see. The video was shot by brave people with miniature cameras. Had they been caught, they surely would have faced execution.

The video was published online by the Mirror, a British news agency.

As the report says, "This is the real North Korea."

The report explains how and why the footage was captured and what daily life is like for ordinary people within the country. Millions of people live near starvation, and children orphaned by misfortune or their parent's imprisonment, often die from malnutrition.

Survivors of the regime tell of capricious guards that can be bribed as easily as they murder. Food is used as leverage to control starving people. Some people have even resorted to cannibalism. Those who are caught are put to death.

Citizens and soldiers alike can be killed for even perceived infractions.

The video shows a young boy sitting on the street, starving to death. The person filming the scene was alerted to the boy and his condition. While he starves, soldiers unload sacks of rice to feed an army. Citizens walk by without a thought, barely able to feed themselves.

In another part of the video, prisoners are seen performing forced labor, including digging crops and carrying burdens under the watch of armed guards.

In a final frame of the video, the photographer is caught, and a North Korean border guard takes aim. The photographer is only saved by his presence across the border in China, and possibly his immediate flight.

You can view the video here, on the Mirror's website.
