We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

TNC officials believe he is hiding near Libya's southern border.

Ousted Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi is on the run, but nobody knows where to. While previous reports have placed him in Algeria and even as far away as Zimbabwe, rebels are now claiming that he is headed into the Sahara, towards Chad or Niger.

TRIPOLI, LIBYA (Catholic Online) - The man responsible for finding Gaddafi is Hisham Buhagiar, a member of the Transitional NationalCouncil. As he coordinates efforts to find Gaddafi, he is providing updates to the media via interviews.

During one such interview on Tuesday, he told reporters, "He's out of Bani Walid I think. The last tracks, he was in the Ghwat area. People saw the cars going in that direction .... We have it from many sources that he's trying to go further south, towards Chad or Niger... It's the tent."

"We know that he doesn't want to stay in a house, so he stays in a tent. People say the cars came, and then they made a tent." He went on to note that nobody claims to have seen Gaddafi himself.

U.S. officials have also stressed that there is no reason to believe that Gaddafi has fled the country and that he may still yet be attempting to coordinate resistance.

Gaddafi's spokesman, Moussa Ibrahim also insisted that Gaddafi was safe. He told Reuters by phone, "He is in Libya. He is safe, he is very healthy, in high morale."

Another possible destination for Gaddafi was Burkina Faso, a West African nation that offered Gaddafi exile two weeks ago. Burkina Faso as also recognized the TNC as Libya's new government. However, officials from that country say they have not yet received a request from Gaddafi or any of his family for exile.

Other developments

On Tuesday, rebels prepared to assault Ben Walid, a Gaddafi stronghold southeast of Tripoli, after surrender talks with loyalists failed. Rebels believe that two of Gaddafi's sons are in the town, which is why they are refusing to surrender.
