The deposed dictator delivered his message on Syrian radio.

Muammar Gaddafi has  sent another message to Libya and the world, this time being broadcast from Syria. The pre-recorded message encouraged people to continue fighting, and told them to prepare for guerilla warfare.

TRIPOLI, LIBYA (Catholic Online) - Gaddafi accused NATO and other international forces which are supporting the revolutionaries and the people of Libya of being imperialists who only wanted the country's oil. He also made other outlandish claims such as that there were 2,000 tribes against NATO and that the balance of power was now equal. He asked his supporters to burn the country if needed and assured them that he would not surrender. "We are not women and we are going to keep on fighting," he said.

Gaddafi has made several such announcements before, previously calling upon everyone to march on Tripoli and insisting the rebels were few in number or that they were armies made mostly of mercenaries.

However, since his power has eroded and high-ranking members of his staff have turned against him, he has lost all credibility with the people. Many people in Tripoli are indifferent to his speeches, focusing more on the daily concern of where to find food and water, which are in dangerously short supply.

Where's Gaddafi?

Speculation about Gaddafi's location continues as everyone seems to have a different story. Gaddafi says he is in Sirte, where he has moved the national capital. Rebels say he is now in a town to the southeast of Tripoli, claiming to have word from a credible source. Others are saying that he is in Algeria, although Algerian authorities flatly deny the claim.

An Algerian newspaper says Gaddafi is in a border town and has been trying to escape into the Algeria but that officials are refusing to acknowledge him. And last week, reports from Zimbabwe claimed Gaddafi's entourage and female bodyguards had been spotted in Zimbabwe where President Mugabe was giving him asylum.

The fact may be that not even Gaddafi knows where he is. His claims appear to be increasingly delusional and only serve to annoy his opponents now rather than worry them. He may be alive, but he is nothing compared to what he was even a few weeks ago, his power is wholly  diminished and his escape from justice, hopefully short.
