The Brooks believe the realtor and former owner knew about the infestation.

A couple from Annapolis is suing their realtor and home's former owner for $2 million, claiming they knew the $410,000 house was infested with snakes. Despite spending $50,000 trying to get rid of the snakes, up to 7-feet long, the couple was unable to get rid of them completely, as they continued to find snake skins and trails of feces. The couple moved in with relatives in April.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The couple filed suit against Barbara Van Horn, their realtor, as well as Champion Realty, the company she works for. Former owner of the home, Joan Broseker and the Joan Broseker Revocable Trust were also included in the lawsuit.

The Brooks received phone calls from families that formerly lived in the house, complaining about the same problem, telling them their experiences inside the building. What the couple heard added to their speculation that Van Horn and Broseker knew about the snakes, but did not bother disclosing it to them.

The Brooks moved into their new home back in December and the snakes were observed inside after the weather began warming up. After finding eight black rat snakes, they started worrying the snakes might attack their children, Thomas, 4, and Lilly, seven months old. Jeff takes a machete around the house with him to kill a snake in case one appears inside.

Home Paramount, a pest control company, noted that the situation was unlike any they have ever seen. They advised the couple to determine where the snakes are staying or entering and to tear down those walls.

Snake skins, feces and the tracks they make while navigating inside the house were found, according to the filed lawsuit.

In the lawsuit it is stated that, "Van Horn refused to keep a lockbox on the premises while acting as the listing agent and would personally unlock the home and turn on the lights and, upon information and belief, check for snake activity before anyone entered," as cited in The Daily Mail.
