We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

McClatchy-Tribune News Service (MCT) - Come January 20th, Americans will have plenty of reasons to celebrate with an inaugural cocktail. Whether you're commemorating president-elect Barack Obama's rise to the White House and the theme of change, the end of the era of George Bush or the beginning of his reign as a former president and private citizen, or if you're simply filled with the patriotic spirit, you'll want to raise your glass in a toast with these colorful cocktails.

Danielle Tatarin of the Designer Cocktail Company (www.DesignerCocktail.com) created the Inaugural Cheer, a layered red, white, and blue concoction that looks just beautiful in a champagne flute. On behalf of Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup (www.WildHibiscus.com), this cocktail will be presented at the Creative Coalition's Gala Inaugural Ball, one of several high end inaugural balls taking place on that historic day.
___
INAUGURAL CHEER
˝ cup crushed ice
1 bud Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup
˝ ounce syrup form Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup
Ľ ounce fresh lemon juice

Place Wild Hibiscus Flower upright in the bottom of a champagne flute. Mix lemon juice and Wild Hibiscus Syrup and pour mixture over the flower. Add crushed ice, then slowly pour HPNOTIQ over ice. Slowly top with dry sparkling wine or champagne.
From Bridget Albert, an award-winning mixologist who is currently the Master Mixologist at Southern Wine and Spirits, comes the creations of the Air Force One, also made with HPNOTIQ super-premium vodka (www.hpnotiq.com) and the American Dream with PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur (www.PamaLiqueur.com). Both cocktails will be featured at the Inaugural Ball at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C., for the Hawaii delegation.

Grey Goose Vodka (www.greygoose.com) has also rolled out the red carpet for the inauguration, creating several delicious cocktails especially in honor of president-elect Obama.
