(Catholic Online) - Autumn brings a chill in the air and the beginning of flu season. Here is an easy chicken soup recipe for those cold days ahead and those "sick" days when chicken soup is the most appealing.

Chicken Soup 4 to 5 pound chicken 3 to 4 quarts cold water 1 onion 2 stalks celery, or Ľ cup celery root, diced 5 peppercorns 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 tablespoon canned tomatoes Singe, clean, wash thoroughly and cut up chicken into serving portions. Add water and simmer slowly about 2 hours, then add vegetables and cook 1 hour longer.
