'I firmly believe life begins at conception and anything we can do to protect human life I'm all for.'

South Carolina legislature passed a bill on Tuesday that puts an end to abortions after 19 weeks. Dare we hope the bill is the beginning of the end of abortion?

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - With South Carolina on board, there are seventeen U.S. states banning abortions after the 19-week point.

The bill will be presented to Governor Nikki Haley, who already stated she would sign it - after looking over the fine print.

South Carolina's Wendy Nanney sponsored the bill and claims the bill may be the first step in getting "rid of abortion altogether."

Nanney added, "I firmly believe life begins at conception and anything we can do to protect human life I'm all for."

The bill does offer exceptions to the rule, as so many laws do. Should the mother's life be endangered or the child's health determined detrimental outside the womb, an abortion can be conducted. These dangers are generally discovered at around twenty-weeks' gestation.

There are no exceptions for rape or incest within the bill and any doctor who conducts an illegal abortion could face up to three years in prison paired with a $10,000 fine.

Though some have issues with the bill, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Greg Delleney described that the law "prevents infanticide," which many don't recognize.

Life begins at the moment of conception - to abort an innocent is murder, which God clearly stated was wrong in several Bible passages, including Ezekiel 16:20,21, 22, in which God states: "You took the sons and daughters you had borne me and sacrificed them ... for you to slaughter my children and hand them over ... disaster upon you, disaster!"

God was extremely clear when he condemned the murder of innocents - and now, America is on its way to agreeing.
