We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Parents of the infant never lost faith.

When E'Layah Faith Pegues was born many doubted her chances of survival. Born three and a half months premature, E'Layah weighed only 10 ounces and was 10 inches long.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - "Inside I was screaming, 'The devil is a liar,' you know, 'You will never have my child,'" expressed E'Layah's mother Megan Smith, recalling the moment she had to endure the emergency c-section due to her severely high blood pressure and bring her baby into the world early.

"They were trying to set us up for the possibility of her not living, and I wasn't accepting that."

Born at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, E'Layah became "one of the world's smallest surviving babies ever born."

"I was just so filled with joy that she was ok. She came out," stated Smith.

"To be honest, we were unsure if E'Layah was going to make it," Dr. Andrew Herman said to ABC News, "but the doctor who delivered her could see she had a fighting chance, and her parents never lost faith it was possible she'd survive."

According to Smith, E'Layah's middle name, Faith, was given to her because Smith and her fiance never lost faith in their daughter.

After nearly five months of fighting in the hospital, the beautiful baby girl now weighs five pounds and seven ounces and is finally strong enough to head home.

"She has grown, and she has been able to breathe on her own and she looks around. She pays attention to her surroundings, she knows her mom's voice, she knows her dad's voice. and I'm amazed she has come this far," Dr. Jessica Clark-Pounder of Levine Children's Hospital told CBS News.

In the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, late-term abortions are still legal. Witnessing the life of a very premature baby allows the world to see what a baby the same gestational age goes through when he or she is aborted. It is not acceptable to simply ignore the reality of life inside the womb; these babies feel and hurt.
