We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - In a video posted by New York-based inspirational group Love What Matters, a woman known only as Jessica is shown holding her son, Hugo, for the first time.
Hugo was born ten weeks premature and was delivered via c-section. He was immediately taken to the NICU for evaluation while mother Jessica was forced to wait to see him.
After recovering, Jessica was allowed to hold her son for the first time - 60 hours later.
The cameraperson uploaded the short video to the Love What Really Matters Facebook page along with the following caption:
"I took this video hoping to catch a moment, never did I anticipate seeing the exact moment that she fell completely in love with him. The bond between Mother and Son [sic] immediately solidified.
"I hope that this video can show people that Love is the most important thing in anyone's life. Without it we will simply exist, when the goal is to live."
Since its upload on February 16, the video has been viewed over 7.1 million times, shared nearly 45,000 times and has nearly eight thousand comments.
Though the video is short, the overwhelming emotion is apparent on Jessica's face as she looks upward to avoid crying.
The touching moment they bond is palpable, prompting thousands of comments that include well-wishes and stories other mothers felt inspired to share.
Samantha Williams commented: "I cried. my [sic] daughter was born 5 weeks premature and weighed 3 pounds, half ounce [sic]. When I looked at her for the first time, she looked up at me and smiled... I couldn't hold back the tears! So tony, but remarkably perfect."
Motherhood is a glorious gift from God, and Jessica was blessed to have a team of good doctors who were guided to save both Jessica and little Hugo.
