LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - 26-year-old Niamh Geaney joined forces with two friends to work on a project called Twin Strangers.

The goal of the experiment was to see which of the three could find their closest look-alike within 28 days. It attracted submissions worldwide and Geaney found her doppelganger in only two weeks only an hour away from her home in Ireland.

A few weeks later, Geaney found her second doppelganger living in Genoa, Italy. After tracking down two of her lookalikes, Geaney began using her website to help people connect with their doppelgangers.

Geaney's meeting with the first of her two lookalikes prompted her to sign up in search of her own near-twin, Jennifer confessed.

"I was really quite fascinated with the whole thing, but especially that they reportedly shared similarities beyond their appearance," Jennifer told Twin Strangers. "I wanted to see if I found another person that looked like me, would they act like me too? Would I feel a kinship?"

Jennifer hails from Texas while Ambra is from North Carolina. Neither woman knew about the other until Jennifer put her parameters into the website and matched her to Ambra's photo.

After Jennifer discovered Ambra, the women decided to meet. Ambra flew from North Carolina to Texas where they dressed identically, applied the same makeup and had their hair styles to showcase their similarities.

Jennifer recalls a moment she looked in the mirror after the duo did their makeup. "I thought I was looking at myself at first, but the mirror wasn't angled properly for that. When I realized my mistake, I turned the mirror and felt a jolt of shock when I saw us together. It was actually a pretty terrifying feeling, like seeing your own ghost

Jennifer's fiance Travis said, "It's uncanny... creepy." In a video Jennifer recorded of the meet, Jennifer's mother Karen looks at Ambra and hugs her, saying, "You're my daughter."

Ambra explained how strange the experience with Karen was, stating "It felt weird to meet Karen. I felt like I was supposed to be meeting my own mom for the first time. It turned out she was more like my Aunt Monte than she was like my own mother."

Jennifer and Ambra agree they have several similarities such as their love for horses, reading, science and children. Their birthdays even fall two days apart.

After their meeting, the women decided to stay in touch. Ambra said, "Everyone should search for their own Twin Strangers! It was a fantastic, unique experience and I can't wait to meet my next one!"
