Nicole Barr is ranked among geniuses.

Nicole Barr, 12, scored 162 points on a recent IQ test, two points higher than geniuses Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein reportedly scored. The child prodigy from Harlow, England is now ranked among the top one percent of the population, based on intelligence. Nicole said she did not expect she would have scored that high, with the news shocking her and her family.

"When I found out I got such a high score, it was so unexpected. I was shocked," claimed the 12-year-old genius. Nicole is confirmed by Mensa as the newest member of the prestigious society, which has only about 110,000 members worldwide.

"Nicole's IQ puts her comfortably within the top one percent of the population. Only children can get a score higher than 161, because that is the maximum IQ score for an adult. The test is age adjusted for children. While a score of 162 isn't exactly unknown, it is still quite rare," said a Mensa spokesperson on a statement with the Western Daily Press.

Of course, her parents, though separated, are very proud of their cheerful, hardworking daughter.

"It's nice for us to be in the news for something good for a change. This shows that it doesn't matter where you come from, anyone can be academically brilliant," stated the girl's father James, 36-year-old gutter cleaner and driveway repairman, according to Western Daily Press.

"I had the idea in my mind that she would get into Mensa, but when I got the results back, I thought, 'Wow that's a high score!' It wasn't until later that I learned it was the top score possible on that test," he said.

"The schoolgirl, who attends Burnt Mill Academy, in Harlow, enjoys reading, singing and drama, and hopes to go on to study to become a doctor," explained Western Daily Press.
