MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - In the video clip obtained by UK news outlet, the Mirror, Prince William is heard telling little Prince George that they are "going back" to "Granny's," the affectionate name he calls the Queen.
The family was seen walking the short distance from the church to the Sandringham House, where the monarch hosted a christening tea, complete with cakes and sandwiches.
Although she is the young prince's great-grandmother, it was revealed that she is also referred to as "Granny" by the prince who took after his father, Prince William, and uncle, Prince Harry. Prince George was seen looking back for his relatives both in the royal household and the Middletons, in which his father reassured him that "they are coming," according to The Daily Mail. It is known that he calls Carole Middleton "Grandma," while uncertain how he address the Duchess of Cornwall.
During the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics, William and Harry were heard cheering "Go Granny!" during her parachute stunt, making the call between them famous. Prince Harry told the press, "To me, she's just Granny" as they mark the Diamond Jubilee.
He also introduced the monarch's message by saying "Here's Granny," at the closing concert for the last year's Invictus Game. It would seem that behind all the royal duties inside the palace, the family is well bonded by comfortably addressing each other beyond their titles.
