We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Yes! Catholic Online School is here to support your school and parish catechetical programs. We also offer courses in a variety of others subjects, such as history, science, and language arts, for the same reason.
Catholic Online School is not here to compete with or replace parish catechetical programs.
Although we offer certificates of completion for various courses, these certificates do not confer sacraments. Nor are they intended to. Instead, the proper use of Catholic Online School's religious education courses is as a part of your parish faith formation program.
Yes, students may take these courses on their own for any reason, but if you wish to receive a sacrament, it is essential that all students do so as part of an established parish program, under the direction of an official catechist.

Earning a certificate of completion for the Sacrament of Confirmation does not mean you are confirmed in the Church. That Sacrament can only be conferred by a bishop, or his appointed representative.
That said, Catholic Online School is a part of several parish catechetical programs and is widely approved for such use. That's because the lessons are all 100% magisterial, meaning they conform perfectly to the official teachings and catechism of the Catholic Church. These lessons are prepared by clergy, including deacons who are experts on faith formation and professional catechists with degrees, credentials, and certifications.
This means you can trust the content on Catholic Online School to teach the Gospel Truth as handed down by the Church.
The school's mobile-friendly video lessons are enjoyed by more than one million enrollments, across 193 countries. Many schools and parishes use the content to save time when planning lessons. They also make excellent make-up content for students who have to miss courses and for those who cannot attend a regular faith formation class.
Many priests accept certificates of completion as evidence of a student's sincere effort and learning.
All Catholics are invited to ask their parish priest if they are familiar with Catholic Online School and would like to use it as a reliable, time-saving, and 100% FREE supplement for their parish faith formation programs.
Please let those around you know. Catholic Online School's mission is to provide a FREE, world-class Catholic education for anyone, anywhere. We are here for you and your parish, school, and homeschool. Please enroll today and see why so many people take courses from Catholic Online School every day.
