LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Catholic Online School is dedicated to providing a free, world class Catholic education for anyone, anywhere. It costs nothing, not for students, teachers, parishes, homeschoolers, or people just seeking to deepen their understanding of their Catholic faith. It's truly 100% free.
There are several ways teachers can use the school. The first is to simply use the content as the centerpiece or a supplement for a lesson plan. Start by creating your account here. Next, browse the courses in the school and choose one that interests you. Click "Enroll Free." And that's it, you're in! Teachers can share the course with their students in a way that serves their need.
Another way to use the school is to send students to enroll as individuals in the school. We recommend this approach because it allows each student to move at their own pace. This is one of the great advantages of online education. Learning isn't restricted to a single period. Also, we have found almost all students tend to browse and take other courses on their own. That's fantastic because they will encounter new and exciting aspects of the faith that appeal to them, which strengthens them.
As students complete courses, they may screenshot their scores or certificates (when applicable) and print or email these for recording in your gradebook.
For teachers with many students, we can also generate reports and send these to you for recording. It is also possible for us to work with entire schools and to set up the means for an administrator to pull reports as needed. To inquire about this role, teachers and school administrators are invited to reach out to Catholic Online School here.
Homeschoolers are also very welcome to use Catholic Online School. Simply log in using your child/student's account and check their progress. We can also provide help and instructions for how to do this, if needed.
Individuals who want to take courses on their own are invited too. Again, simply sign up for the school, then enroll in the courses you like. Work at your own pace and enjoy learning about the richness of your Catholic faith.
Here's an important note. A number of students have donated to Your Catholic Voice Foundation, then attempted to log into the school with the same credentials. This is not possible because YVCF.org is a different entity and website altogether. YCVF supports the school, but the school is its own site. You will need a login for the school itself.
Catholic Online School is 100% free. It is supported by generous donations from people like you who are passionate about the importance of Catholic education. If you would like to support this project, here is where you may please do so.
