Highlights
LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Catholic Online School has added a new course to the Grade 1 Catechism curriculum. The course covers Noah, Abraham, and Isaac.
These patriarchs are the fathers of the modern, Judeo-Christian-Islamic faith traditions. Noah is the new father of humanity following the Great Flood. Abraham is the patriarch of three of the world's major faiths. And Isaac is the father of the twelve tribes of Israel.
The course features four lessons, with two centered on Abraham and his faithful obedience to God. Each lesson comes with a video which delivers important information in a short, easy to follow format, ideal for young students.
The course comes complete with lessons plans, including learning outcomes, study guides, assessments, resources and more.
While the course is designed for first grade students, it is also suitable for older students, including adults. It can serve as a primer for new Catholics and a refresher for the lifelong faithful.
Catholic Online School is producing catechism lessons for grades 1-8. Each catechism class will feature between a hundred and two hundred lessons. Students who complete the year's lessons will have been taught a proper catechism consistent with the magisterial office of the Catholic Church. All lessons are reviewed for magesterial conformity, meaning nothing objectionable to the faith is taught. Reviews are performed by trained Catholic clergy.
Catholic Online School hopes to have all catechism courses completed by sometime next year (2021). The exact timing of completion depends on funding for additional courses. Catholic Online School is free and students never have to pay tuition or purchase books and materials. The only thing students need is a smart device, such as a phone, tablet, or computer, and an internet connection. An email address is required for enrollment, but there are no fees.
Instead of charging tuition, Catholic Online School is supported by the gifts of generous donors around the globe.
Catholic Online School's mission is to provide a free, world class Catholic education for anyone anywhere.
