LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Probably sometime late last year, Coptic Christians in Egypt took to the streets and joined in chanting the Nicene Creed. The prayer is an act of defiance towards terrorist groups such as ISIS that have recently targeted Christians in Egypt.
Coptic Christians are Egypt's largest minority, with about 4 million people following the faith. Unfortunately, they are often persecuted by terrorists and by the nations' Muslim government.
The video shows Coptic Christians chanting the Creed sometime in 2016, likely around December. The video was unassumingly posted to YouTube and has now been re-posted several times.
Hopefully, the video inspires each of us to be proud of our faith and to redouble our efforts to make peace with all people.
