LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to Vatican Radio, Pope Francis' prayer intention for the month of December is to end child soldiers.
End to Child-Soldiers: That the scandal of child-soldiers may be eliminated the world over was revealed in the pontiff's prayer intention video.
The Apostleship of Prayer produced the Pope's Video in this prayer intention:
The full script reads:
In this world, which has developed the most sophisticated technologies, weapons are sold that end up in the hands of child soldiers.
We must do everything possible so that the dignity of children may be respected, and end this form of slavery.
Whoever you are, if you are moved as I am, I ask you to join in this prayer intention: That the scandal of child-soldiers may be eliminated the world over.
Humanitarian groups estimate there exist about 300,000 child soldiers around the world.
Some have made headlines while others go unreported, being subjected to brainwashing and desensitized to the sanctity of human life.
