LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - From her home in the Middle East, Falida, whose real name remains anonymous, shared the story of her mother, who became quite ill.
Her condition worsened and led to a stroke so violent that she became bedridden and was unable to move on her own.
With no one and nowhere else to turn, one of Fadila's brothers set out and returned to their home with "men of God" who had "gifts of healing."Thinking the "men of God" were also Muslim, the family agreed to allow them to pray over their mother.
Fadila explained, "One man prayed. I felt uncomfortable, because it was different than Muslim du'a (prayer). He was using Jesus' name on his prayers. In the name of Jesus he prayed to heal my mother."
When it was discovered the men were Christians, Fadila became furious. She ordered them out of her home and as the men began to leave, her mother struggled to rise from the bed.
"We helped her and she sat erect and then stood on the floor," Fadila explained. Her mother said she saw Jesus as the men prayed, and that Jesus touched her with nail-pierced hands. She described a light enveloping her body and she knew she was healed."She asked the pastor to pardon me [for telling them to go away] and also asked him to pray for my brother who is an alcoholic," Fadila said.
They prayed for her brother, who then confessed his sins, repented and came to Christ. That night, everyone but Fadila's stepmother was converted to Christianity.
Though it is dangerous, Fadila announced her family has been reading the Bible and praying in their spare time. Unfortunately, her stepmother has started to threaten to report them all to the authorities.
"We request prayers," Fadila added.
So we pray:
Thank you, God, for our new brothers and sisters. Thank you for blessing them with faith and adoration for you and the Holy Scriptures. Please protect them, Father, from discovery and persecution. Touch Fadila's stepmother and bring her closer to you as well.
We thank you, Lord, for your mercy, forgiveness and love. We ask that you continue to spread your Truth across the Middle East through miracles and revelations. Bring your children strength and wisdom to endure situations that are out of their control
Help them to trust in you, Father, and to handle any situation in a way that will bring glory to your name.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
