'We're hearing supernatural interventions going on all around the world.'

People around the world have been contributing their encounters with  miracles sent straight from God. Among the several stories, many voices stand out and spread faith.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The non-profit Christian organizations The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) bases their ministry on Hebrews 13:3, which states, "Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who are being badly treated, since you too are in the body."

The Organization explains its purpose is to:

  • Encourage and empower Christians to fulfill the Great Commission in areas of the world where they are persecuted for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Provide practical relief and spiritual support to the families of Christian martyrs
  • Equip persecuted Christians to love and win to Christ those who are opposed to the gospel in their part of the world
  • To undertake projects of encouragement, helping believers rebuild their lives and Christian witness in countries where they have formerly suffered oppression
  • Promote the fellowship of all believers by informing the world of the faith and courage of persecuted Christians, thereby inspiring believers to a deeper level of commitment to Christ and involvement in His Great Commission

It is the last point that has boosted faith around the world.

"We're hearing supernatural interventions going on all around the world," Dr. Jason Peters, associate VP of connection for the VOM explained during a podcast with The Church Boys. He described several miraculous stories in which God sent people or angels to help the faithful in need.

One story Peters shared was that of a missionary in Vietnam who felt God calling him to minister to a part of town where he was not allowed to visit. Despite the dangers, he traveled to the area anyway and did as God instructed. When night began to fall, checkpoints were erected and the missionary began to question how he would return home but did not lose faith.

He prayed to God and a man on a motorbike pulled alongside him. He asked, "Hey, do you need a ride?" The missionary was understandably nervous but chose to believe God had sent the man to offer the ride. They rode immediately to a police station, where the missionary was told to wait on the bike.

Though he was worried about being arrested, he prayed, "Lord, should I stay or should I go?" He felt God telling him to stay, so he obeyed.

When the man returned from the police station, he was dressed in his officer uniform, which showed his significant rank. Though the missionary was panicked, he remained on the bike and was returned safely to his side of the city without incident.

After a time, the missionary decided to approach the station to thank the kind officer but learned no one with the officer's rank has ever worked at that station.

Shocked, the missionary understood that the man must have been an angel sent to send him safely home.

Peters explained several similar stories of "miraculous intervention" have been collected in a new book released by VOM titled "I am N: Inspiring Stories of Christians Facing Islamic Extremists."

"The theme of the book really is, 'We're not going to let them suffer in silence, nor will we let them stand alone," Peters described. "We're going to stand with them and help them to stand strong in Christ."
