We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Christian college students donate enough money to produce Syria's first neonatal ICU.

Over 40,000 college students congregated at three arenas in two different cities to attend an annual Christian event for mass worship, prayer and faith-based teachings.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The three-day youth event, called Passion, began in 1995 with the mission to help college students live in step with God's Word.

Live-streamed meetings were provided to three different city arenas, which helped the thousands of attendees join in what Passion's live-stream website calls, "3 Locations. 2 Cities. 1 Heartbeat."

The youth conference is also known for helping fund Christian-based causes, with this year's philanthropic cause being a hospital in Syria.

The call for donations at Passion resulted in the stunning amount of $785,127.89 to be added to the $210,000 saved for the erection of the hospital.

The hospital's aim is to serve at-risk mothers and children and, according to a press release mentioned in TheBlaze, will be the "first neonatal intensive care unit in opposition-controlled Syria."

Passion is in partnership with Christian charity World Vision, which works "in nearly 100 countries ... [to] provide emergency assistance to children and families affected by disasters and conflict, partner with communities for long-term solutions to alleviate poverty, and advocate for justice on behalf of the poor."

Together, Passion and World Vision will build the neonatal hospital.

This year's Passion theme was the fight against modern-day slavery and a second collection was taken, this one being a call for towels and socks to be donated to local homeless shelters.

Attendees collectively donated 10,000 towels and 60,000 pairs of socks. Meanwhile, next year's Passion event is expected to see 60,000 college students and leaders in attendance in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia.
