LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A message delivered to one of the visionaries, Mirjana, in Medjugorje, contained several reminders from Our Lady.
Dear children, I am always with you... I have, and always will have, love for you; for you who suffer and who offer your pains and sufferings to my Son and to me... Therefore, do not be afraid. --Attrib. to Our Lady of Medjugorjie, Dec 2, 2015
If we believe this message is accurate, then Our Lady is delivering a message of love, reminding us that she loves us and will not forsake us.
This is something Our Lady has repeated to us in the past. At Guadalupe, she reminded Juan Diego to be unafraid, for she would provide what he needed to complete the task she set out for him. She comforted Bernadette at Lourdes and the children at Fatima. On every occasion of her apparition, Our Lady brought comfort.
The Rosary is an incredibly powerful prayer and millions have been converted though its power. Great miracles have been witnessed and lives have been changed.
When the news turns bad, we must remember:
1. We are not alone. Our Lady, Mary, the Mother of God, remains with us. Above her, we have the Holy Trinity, and God's absolute, eternal, and perfect love. If we believe this then how is despair even possible?!
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)
2. Our prayers are powerful and Our Lady, the Saints, intercede for us. Countless miracles have been attributed to such prayer and intercession. God listens to our pleadings, and the saints intercede for us. With such allies, we're much more powerful than we feel we are.
3. Humanity has always overcome every obstacle. There has been no famine, no war, no disease or tribulation that has ever destroyed all humanity or our Mother Church. Indeed, Jesus himself promised that "The gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:18)
We're protected, we're powerful, and we're loved. Our Lady embraces every faithful soul that will accept her love. God does the same. So when news goes bad, take heart!
Every soul is precious and loved, no matter what mistakes we made or how egregiously we error, God is willing to welcome and forgive us. He shows us His life-sustaining love with every breath we draw, and He makes no exceptions.
Let us take heart, for God is triumphant to the end of days.
